R.A.T.E.™ Technology

R.A.T.E.™ (Rapid, Accurate, Temperature, Establishment) is a revolutionary and patented technology, allowing non-invasive, instant and accurate temperature measurements. It powers every single TempleTouch™ Thermometer.

The application of R.A.T.E.™ in human body temperature measurement involves calculating the heat flow from the blood vessels to the skin surface, thus overcoming the need for lengthy measurement, since there is no time barrier to overcome. R.A.T.E.™ technology based thermometers are different from the common digital thermometers, which use mathematical prediction (estimation), based on skin temperature readings to determine the body temperature in 30-90 seconds.

“Heat flow” is the transfer of heat from a place with high temperature to a place with low temperature. The heat flow is a function of the temperature difference between the two spots (blood vessels and the skin) and the thermal characteristics of the in-between tissues. The R.A.T.E.™’s algorithm does not make any assumptions regarding the skin (for calculation purposes) and calculates for every measurement all the parameters influencing the temperature, thus achieving outstanding reliability of the measurement.
